Thomas Edison...  သူကို အခုကေန ေနာက္ျပန္ေရတြက္ရင္ လြန္ခဲ့ေသာ ႏွစ္ေပါင္း ၁၅၀ေက်ာ္ေလာက္က Milan, Ohioမွာ ေမြးဖြားခဲ့တယ္။

ေနာက္ျပီး စပါးက်ီထဲကို လွည္းေတြနဲ႔ စပါးေတြ သယ္ထည့္တာကို ၾကည့္ျပီး စပါးေတြ စပါးက်ီထဲမွာ ဘယ္ေလာက္ရွိမလဲ တက္ၾကည့္တာ စပါးက်ီထဲ လိမ့္က်ဖူးတယ္။ ပ်ားအံုကို ေလ့လာတာလြန္လို႔ ပ်ားတုပ္ခံရတာလည္း အၾကိမ္မနည္းဘူးတဲ့။

၆-ႏွစ္သားအရြယ္ေရာက္ေတာ့ ရွာရွာၾကံၾကံ သူကသိခ်င္ျပန္တယ္။ ၾကံခင္းၾကီးကို ၾကည့္ျပီး သူမိသားစုနဲ႔ အိမ္နီးနားခ်င္းေတြ ေပ်ာ္ေနတာကို ၾကည့္ျပီး သူက စမ္းသပ္မႈတစ္ခုလုပ္ခဲ့မိတယ္။ အဲဒီတုန္းက သူလုပ္ခဲ့တာက ၾကံခင္းကို မီး႐ိႈ႔ခဲ့တာ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ဘာျဖစ္လို႔ မီး႐ိႈရသလဲလို႔ သူ႔ကို ေမးေတာ့ “ၾကံခင္း မီးေလာင္ရင္ လူေတြ ဘယ္လိုေနမလဲ သူသိခ်င္လို႔ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္”တဲ့။

အေျဖကို တကယ္ပဲ သူေသေသခ်ာခ်ာသိသြားရပါတယ္။ သူရိႈခဲ့တဲ့ မီးေၾကာင့္ သူတို႔အိမ္နားနီးခ်င္းေတြေရာ၊ သူတို႔မိသားစုေရာ ဒုကၡေရာက္ခဲ့ရတယ္။ ၆-ႏွစ္သားသူ႔ကို သူ႔အေဖက လူအမ်ားေရွ႔မွာ မီးေလာင္မႈရဲ့တရားခံအျဖစ္ ရိုက္ႏွက္အျပစ္ေပးခဲ့ပါတယ္။ ေနာက္ျပီး အဲဒီပတ္၀န္းက်င္ကေန Michigan ကို သူတို႔ ေျပာင္းေရြ႔ခဲ့ရတယ္။

ေနရာအသစ္ကို ေရာက္ေတာ့ သူဖ်ားေနတာမို႔ အသက္ ရွစ္ႏွစ္ထိေအာင္ ေက်ာင္းမေနရဘူး။ သူကို ေက်ာင္းအပ္ေတာ့ ဆရာစကားနားမေထာင္သူ ကေလးအရိုင္းအစိုင္းအျဖစ္ ျပႆနာ မၾကာခဏတက္ခဲ့တယ္။ ဘာျဖစ္လို႔လဲဆိုေတာ့ သူက ဆရာမေျပာတာထက္ သူသိခ်င္တာကိုပဲ ေလွ်ာက္ေမးေနခဲ့လို႔ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ေနာက္ေတာ့ သူအေမကပဲ သူ႔ကို စာသင္ျပီး စာဖတ္တဲ့အတတ္ကို သင္ေပးခဲ့ရတယ္။

သူက သိပၸံစာအုပ္ေတြကို အရမ္းစိတ္၀င္စားတယ္။ ၁၁- ႏွစ္သား ျဖစ္ေတာ့ သူမွာ ကုိယ္ပိုင္ labေလးတစ္ခု ပိုင္ေနျပီ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ တေန႔ေတာ့ မိုးပ်ံပူေဖာင္းအေၾကာင္းကို ဖတ္ရင္း သူက ဓါတုေဗဒ ေဆးဆိုင္မွာ ပစၥည္းအခ်ိဳ႔ကို သြား၀ယ္ခဲ့တယ္။ ျပီးေတာ့ သူက ပစၥည္းတစ္ခ်ိဳ႔ကို ေရာျပီး ပစၥည္းတစ္ခု ေဖာ္စပ္တယ္။ ျပီးေတာ့ သူအိမ္မွာ ေခၚထားတဲ့ အိမ္ေဖာ္ေကာင္ေလးကို ေသာက္ခိုင္းတယ္။ သူေဖာ္တဲ့အရာက မိုးပ်ံပူေဖာင္းလိုပဲ လူပ်ံေအာင္ စြမ္းတဲ့ ဓါတုပစၥည္းေတြ ထည့္ထားတယ္လို႔ ေျပာပါတယ္။ ေကာင္ေလးက သူခိုင္းသလိုေသာက္ျပီးေနာက္ မိုးေပၚေတာ့ ပ်ံတက္မသြားပဲ ၾကမ္းျပင္ေပၚလဲက်သြားခဲ့တယ္။ သူအေဖ အေရာက္ေစာျပီး ေဆးရံုတင္လို႔သာေပါ့၊ မဟုတ္ရင္ အဲဒီေကာင္ေလး ေသသြားမွာ ေသခ်ာတယ္။ သူက အဲလို စူးစမ္းခ်င္သူျဖစ္ခဲ့တယ္တဲ့..။

၁၂ ႏွစ္သားအရြယ္ေရာက္ေတာ့ ေက်ာင္းစာလုပ္မယ့္အစား အလုပ္လုပ္ဖို႔ပဲ သူေတာင္းဆိုခဲ့တယ္။ ဒါနဲ႔ မီးရထားေပၚမွာ သတင္းစာ၊ ခ်ိဳခ်ဥ္ေရာင္းရင္း ပိုက္ဆံစုခဲ့တယ္။ စာအုပ္ေတြ၀ယ္ဖတ္တယ္၊ ေနာက္ေတာ့ ရထားေပၚမွာ သူ႔ရဲ့ labကိုယ္ပိုင္ခန္းဖြင့္နိုင္ခဲ့တယ္။ ေနာက္ပိုင္း ရထားမွာ သြားရင္း မေတာ္တဆျဖစ္လို႔ သူရဲ့နားကန္းသြားခဲ့တယ္။ ဒါေပမဲ့ စိတ္ဓါတ္မက်ခဲ့တဲ့ သူက ဒီလိုေျပာခဲ့တယ္။

“ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ကံေကာင္းသြားတာဗ်။ အခုဆို စာကို တိတ္တိတ္ဆိတ္ဆိတ္ အာရံုစူးစုိက္ ပိုဖတ္နိုင္တယ္ဗ်ာ။”

အဲဒါကေတာ့ တျခားသူမဟုတ္ပါဘူး နာမည္ေက်ာ္သိပၸံပညာရွင္ၾကီး Thomas Edisonပဲ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။

အဲဒီအခ်ိန္တုန္းကေတာ့ သူ႔ကို ဘယ္သူက အခုလို နာမည္ေက်ာ္ပညာရွင္ၾကီးရယ္လို႔ ထင္ခဲ့ပါ့မလဲေနာ္။ သူရဲ့ အေကာင္းျမင္စိတ္၊ စူးစပ္လိုစိတ္က သူမ်ားကို အနည္းအက်ဥ္း ဒုကၡေရာက္ေစေကာင္း ေရာက္ခဲ့ေစေပမဲ့ ေနာင္တခ်ိန္မွာ လွ်ပ္စစ္မီးေတြ ထိန္ထိန္ညီးေအာင္ သူပဲ တီထြင္ေပးခဲ့တာမို႔လား။ ေနာက္ထပ္လည္း သူအမ်ားၾကီးတီထြင္ခဲ့ေသးတယ္ေလ..။

Thomas Edison was born in Milan, Ohio, and grew up in Port Huron, Michigan. He was the seventh and last child of Samuel Ogden Edison, Jr. (1804–96, born in Marshalltown, Nova Scotia, Canada) and Nancy Matthews Elliott (1810–1871, born in Chenango County, New York).[2]  [citation needed] His father had to escape from Canada because he took part in the unsuccessful Mackenzie Rebellion of 1837.[citation needed] Edison reported being of Dutch ancestry.[3]  

In school, the young Edison's mind often wandered, and his teacher, the Reverend Engle, was overheard calling him "addled". This ended Edison's three months of official schooling. Edison recalled later, "My mother was the making of me. She was so true, so sure of me; and I felt I had something to live for, someone I must not disappoint." His mother taught him at home.[4]   Much of his education came from reading R.G. Parker's School of Natural Philosophy and The Cooper Union.

Edison developed hearing problems at an early age. The cause of his deafness has been attributed to a bout of scarlet fever during childhood and recurring untreated middle-ear infections. Around the middle of his career, Edison attributed the hearing impairment to being struck on the ears by a train conductor when his chemical laboratory in a boxcar caught fire and he was thrown off the train in Smiths Creek, Michigan  , along with his apparatus and chemicals. In his later years, he modified the story to say the injury occurred when the conductor, in helping him onto a moving train, lifted him by the ears.[5]  [6]  

Edison's family moved to Port Huron, Michigan after the railroad bypassed Milan in 1854 and business declined;[7]   his life there was bittersweet. He sold candy and newspapers on trains running from Port Huron to Detroit, and he sold vegetables to supplement his income. He also studied qualitative analysis, and conducted chemical experiments on the train until an accident prohibited further work of the kind.[8]  

He obtained the exclusive right to sell newspapers on the road, and, with the aid of four assistants, he set in type and printed the Grand Trunk Herald, which he sold with his other papers.[8]   This began Edison's long streak of entrepreneurial ventures, as he discovered his talents as a businessman. These talents eventually led him to found 14 companies, including General Electric, which is still one of the largest publicly traded companies in the world.
