တစ္ခ်ိဳ႕ေသာ verb မ်ားရဲ႕ ေနာက္မွာ verb ထပ္ပါေသးရင္ အဲဒီေနာက္က verb ကို မၿဖစ္မေန -ing ထည္႕ရတယ္။ ဥပမာ

enjoy = တစ္ခုခုလုပ္ရတာ ေပ်ာ္တယ္ , stop = ရပ္တယ္ , postpone= ေရႊ႕ဆိုင္းတယ္ , admit= ၀န္ခံတယ္ , avoid = ေရွာင္တယ္ , finish = ၿပီးစီးတယ္ , consider = ေလးေလးနက္နက္ စဥ္းစားတယ္ , deny = ၿငင္းတယ္ , risk = စြန္႕စားတယ္ , fancy = ၾကိဳက္တယ္/ တစ္ခုခုလုပ္ဖုိ႕ စိတ္ပါတယ္ , mind= တစ္ခုခုလုပ္ဖုိ႕ ၀န္ေလးတယ္ )
ဥပမာ၀ါက်မ်ားကေတာ႕

I enjoy reading. စာဖတ္ရတာ ၾကိဳက္တယ္။ ( enjoy to read လုိ႕ မေရးရ )

I can't risk losing you . မင္းကို မစြန္႕လႊတ္ရဲဘူး / လက္လြတ္မခံႏိုင္ဘူး ( risk to lose လို႕မေရးရ )

I don't mind going there alone. တစ္ေယာက္တည္းသြားရမွာ ၀န္မေလးပါ။

Have you ever considered going to live in another country? တၿခားတိုင္းၿပည္တစ္ခုခုမွာ ေနဖုိ႕မ်ား (ေလးေလးနက္နက္ ) စဥ္းစားဖူးလား ( considered to go လုိ႕ မေရးရ )

They admitted stealing the money. အဲဒီပိုက္ဆံကို ခိုးမိေၾကာင္း သူတုိ႕ ၀န္ခံခဲ႕တယ္ ။ ( admitted to steal လုိ႕ မေရးရ )

I now regret saying it. အဲဒါကို ေၿပာမိတာ အခု ေနာင္တရတယ္ ( regret to say လုိ႕ မေရးရ )

ေအာက္ပါ verb ေတြလည္း အဲလိုဘဲ သံုးရတယ္။ အဓိပၸါယ္ကို အဂၤလိပ္လုိဘဲ ေရးေပးလုိက္ပါတယ္။

give up = stop ,
put off = postpone ,
go on/ carry on = continue, keep ,
keep on = do something continuously or repeatedly

I 've given up reading newspapers. I think it's a waste of time.
သတင္းစာဖတ္တာကို ရပ္လိုက္ၿပီ။ အခ်ိန္ကုန္လုိ႕။

ဂ်င္နီက အလုပ္က မနားခ်င္းေသး။ ဆက္လုပ္ခ်င္ေသးတယ္ ။

( အတုိဆံုးနည္းနဲ႕ လိုတာကိုဘဲ ေၿပာလိုက္တာပါ။ အေသးစိတ္ေတြကို ဆက္သိခ်င္ရင္ Raymond Murphy ရဲ႕ English Grammar in Use ကို ဖတ္ပါ ။ Intermediate ေလာက္ ေသခ်ာသိရင္ အေတာ္အဆင္ေၿပပါတယ္။ Advance ကေတာ႕ အရမ္း အေသးစိတ္လြန္းလုိ႕ ေခါင္းစားခံႏိုင္မွ ဖတ္ပါ ။ ဒါေတြကို Intermediate နဲ႕ online dictionary တုိ႕က ref ယူထားတယ္။ အခုေၿပာတာေတြဟာ TOEFL ရဲ႕ Grammar အပိုင္းမွာ ပါတတ္တယ္။ ဥပမာ I am considering ( to go / going abroad ) ဆိုရင္ ဘာကို ေရြးမလဲ ။ အထက္မွာ ေၿပာလုိက္တဲ႕ Rule ကို မသိရင္ to go ကို မွားေရြးတတ္ၾကတယ္ ။ -ing ႏွစ္ခါ ဘာလုိ႕ေရြးမလဲဆိုၿပီးေတာ႕လည္း ေရႊဥာဏ္ေတာ္ စူးေရာက္တတ္တယ္။ အဲလုိနဲ႕ဘဲ မွားၾကတာပါ။ ဖတ္ရင္ နားလည္မွန္းသိေပမယ္႕ ဒီမေရရာမွဳေလးမ်ား ေပ်ာက္ေအာင္ ေၿပာရၿခင္း ၿဖစ္ပါတယ္။ )
