(Interruptions)

Polite ways of interrupting
l’m sorry to interrupt, but would you mind if I just said something here?
Can I just ask you a quick question here, please?

Excuse me, but I'm not sure I fully understand what you're saying.

Could I just take this opportunity to say something, please?

Sorry about the interruption, but...

Apologies for jumping in like this, but...

Would you mind if I just jumped in here?

Is it OK if I jump in for a second’? I think everyone should be aware that...

If I might just add something here...

I'm sorry but I think I'm missing something here. Could you explain how...?

Sorry about the interruption, and I apologise if you're about to mention this anyway, but I'm having some trouble understanding...

More direct ways of interrupting

Wait a minute! What about...?

Erm, Just a minute, what about...?
Just a moment! What about...?

l must just say at this stage that...

Do you really think so? My impression is that...

That's impossible! It's perfectly clear that...

...which was voted down by everyone else.

...who left early without even saying goodbye.

[relative pronoun ေတြျဖစ္တဲ့ who, what, when, where...

Training?/ helpful?/ Profitable?

Sorry, go ahead.
Sorry, you were saying..

Harriet: Thank you all so much for coming along today. As you know, we're all extremely proud of the progress we've ma de so far. Unemployment is down, the economy 15 up an d. erm. ..

Journalist: I'm sorry to interrupt you here, but the latest figures seem to show that unemployment is up and running at more than 12%.

Harriet: Well, If you just let me finish, I'll be going into that in more detail. [back to her discussion],  Anyway, as you know, we're also doing great things for the environment. We've set up more wind farms than any previous government, and, erm. ..

Journalist: I do apologise for jumping in like this, but could you please explain what it is that you mean by “great things"? I mean, this government has invested in more coal-powered stations than any other government in the history of this country.

Harriet: Well, as l was saying before l was so rudely interrupted, l think we can all be proud of the fact that hospital waiting lists have almost disappeared, and, erm...

Journalist: Disappeared? You're joking! I can't see how you can claim that when hospital waiting lists are actually longer than ever.

Harriet: Look, it you'd just let me finish, I'll give you the figures for this and, erm. ..

Journalist: Don't bother! This government is a joke and you know it.

Harriet: I was just about to say that!

ဇာနည္(MyWay!)
