၁၆  after (preposition)ၿပီးေနာက္ (၀ိဘတ္) ; afterwards (adverb) ထို႔ေနာက္ (ႀကိယာ၀ိေသသန)
After သည္ ၀ိဘတ္ျဖစ္သည္။ သူ႔ေနာက္မွ နာမ္ျဖစ္ေစ၊ ving ပံုစံျဖစ္ေစလိုက္ႏိုင္သည္။

We ate in a restaurant after the film.
After seeing the film, we ate in a restaurant.
႐ုပ္ရွင္(ၾကည့္)ၿပီးေနာက္ စားေသာက္ဆိုင္တစ္ခုတြင္စားၾကသည္။

After သည္ ၀ိဘတ္မဟုတ္ပါ။ afterwards, then or after that တို႔ႏွင့္အဓိပၸါယ္တူမသံုးပါ။
A We went to the cinema and afterwards (then/after that) we ate in a
restaurant.

(NOT . . . and after we ate in a restaurant.)

၁၇။ after all ဘာပဲေျပာေျပာ၊ ေနာက္ဆံုးေတာ့၊ တကယ္ေတာ့
၁။ After all သည္ ေမွ်ာ္လင့္တာကတစ္ခု၊ ျဖစ္လာတာကဆန္႔က်င္ဘက္တစ္ခုဆိုသည္ကိုျပသည္။  Although we expected something different. တစ္ခုခုကိုေမွ်ာ္လင့္ထားေသာ္လည္း ဟူသည့္အဓိပၸါယ္ျဖစ္သည္။
e.g.
I'm sorry. l thought l could come and see you this evening, but I'm not
free after all.
၀မ္းနည္းပါတယ္။ ဒီညေနခင္ဗ်ားကိုလာေတြ႕ႏိုင္မယ္လို႔ထင္ထားခဲ့တာ ဒါေပမယ့္ လံုး၀မအားဘူးဗ်ာ။

l expected to fail the exam. but l passed after all.
စာေမးပြဲက်မယ္ထင္ထားတာ ေနာက္ဆံုးေတာ့ေအာင္ခဲ့တယ္။

တည္ေနရာ: ၀ါက်အဆံုးတြင္ေနေလ့ရွိသည္။
၂။  after all ကို လူတို႔ေမ့ေနတတ္သည့္ လိုအပ္သည့္အခ်က္တစ္ခု/ အေရးပါသည့္အခ်က္တစ္ခုကို အစေဖာ္ေပးရန္လည္းသံုးႏိုင္သည္။

lt's not surprising you're hungry. After all, you didn't have breakfast.
မင္းဆာတာအံ့ၾသစရာေတာ့မရွိပါဘူး။ တကယ္ေတာ့ မင္းမနက္စာမွမစားခဲ့ဘဲ။
l think we should go and see Granny. After all, she only lives ten miles
away, and we haven't seen her for ages.

Position: ၀ါက်အစတြင္ေနေလ့ရွိသည္

၁၈။ afternoon, evening and night  ေန႔လည္၊ ညေနခင္း ဤသံုးခုသည္သို႔ေလာသို႔ေလာျဖစ္တတ္သည္။ ေယဘုယ်အားျဖင့္ ေန႔လည္ ၁၂ နာရီမွ အလင္းေရာင္ ရွိေသးသည္အထိ afternoon ေန႔ခင္းျဖစ္သည္။ ေမွာင္စပ်ိဳးလာလွ်င္ ညေနခင္းသို႔ေျပာင္းၿပီျဖစ္သည္။ သို႔ရာတြင္ ႏွစ္တစ္ႏွစ္၏အခ်ိန္ႏွင့္လည္းဆိုင္သည္။ ေႏြရာသီတြင္ ညေနေျခာက္နာရီထိုးလွ်င္ အလင္းေရာင္ရွိေနလွ်င္ပင္ afternoon ဟုမေျပာေတာ့။ ေဆာင္းရာသီတြင္ေတာ့ ေမွာင္ေနေသာ္လည္း ငါးနာရီေလာက္အထိ afternoon ေျပာတုန္းျဖစ္သည္။ ညေနခင္းမွညသို႔ေျပာင္းခ်ိန္ သည္ အိပ္ယာ၀င္ခ်ိန္ျဖစ္သည္။
Good evening သည္ ‘Hello’. ဟုႏႈတ္ဆက္ျခင္းျဖစ္သလို  Good night သည္ ‘Goodbye' ဟုႏႈတ္ဆက္ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္ကိုမွတ္သားသင့္သည္။ ေတြ႕ဆံုခ်ိန္ႏႈတ္ဆက္ရန္မည္သည့္အခါမွ မသံုးပါ။ သင္သည္ စားေသာက္ဆိုင္တစ္ခုသို႔ ည ၉ နာရီခန္႔၀င္သြားပါက ဆိုင္၀န္ထမ္းမွ good evening ဟုႏႈတ္ဆက္မည္ျဖစ္ေသာ္လည္း ည ၉ နာရီခန္႔ ဆိုင္မွျပန္ထြက္လာပါက ဆိုင္၀န္ထမ္းမွ good night ဟုႏႈတ္ဆက္မည္ျဖစ္သည္။

A: Good evening. Terrible weather, isn't it?
B: Yes. dreadful.
A: Hasn't stopped raining for weeks. Well, l must be going. Good night
B: Good night.

၁၉။ ages အသက္
လူေတြ၏အသက္ကို be + number ဂဏန္းႏွင့္ေျပာေလ့ရွိသည္။
e.g.
He is thirty-live. သူအသက္သံုးဆယ့္ငါးႏွစ္ရွိၿပီ။
She will be twenty-one next year. ေနာက္ႏွစ္မွာ သူ႔အသက္ ႏွစ္ဆယ့္တစ္ႏွစ္ျပည့္ၿပီ။

သို႔မဟုတ္  be + number + years old ျဖင့္လည္းေျပာသည္။
He is thirty-five years old. သူအသက္သံုးဆယ့္ငါးႏွစ္ရွိၿပီ။
He is thirty-five years. ဟုမသံုးပါ။
လူတစ္ေယာက္၏အသက္ကိုေမးရန္ How old are you? ဟုေမးပါ။ What is your age?
သည္ သဒၵါမွန္ေသာ္လည္းသံုးေလ့မရွိပါ။

 be + . . . age (preposition မပါ) ပံုစံအားသတိျပဳပါ။
When l was your age, l was already working. မင္းအရြယ္တုန္းက ငါအလုပ္လုပ္ေနၿပီ။
The two boys are the same age. ေကာင္ေလးႏွစ္ေယာက္သည္အရြယ္တူျဖစ္သည္။
She's the same age as me. သူသည္ကၽြန္ေတာ္ႏွင့္အရြယ္တူျဖစ္သည္။

၂၀။ ago လြန္ခဲ့ေသာ
၁။ Position တည္ေနရာ
အခ်ိန္ျပစကားလံုး + ago
l met her six weeks ago.  သူမကို လြန္ခဲ့ေသာေျခာက္ပတ္ကဆံုခဲ့တယ္။ (NOT . . . ago six weeks)
lt all happened a long time ago. ျဖစ္တာၾကာခဲ့ၿပီေပါ့။
How long ago did you arrive? ေရာက္တာဘယ္ေလာက္ၾကာၿပီလဲ။

Ago အား အတိတ္ကာလ past tense ႏွင့္သာသံုးသည္။ present perfect ႏွင့္မသံုးပါ။

She phoned a few minutes ago. (NOT . . . She has phoned )
‘Where's Mike?'  'He was working outside ten minutes ago.'

ago and for ျခားနားခ်က္
ေအာက္ပါ၀ါက်တို႔ကိုႏႈိင္းယွဥ္ၾကည့္ပါ။
l went to Spain six weeks ago. ( = six weeks before now)
စပိန္ကို လြန္ခဲ့ေသာေျခာက္ပတ္အၾကာက သြားခဲ့သည္။
 
I went to Germany for six weeks this summer. ( I spent six weeks in Germany.)
ဒီႏွစ္ေႏြရာသီမွာ ဂ်ာမဏီကိုေျခာက္ပတ္ၾကာသြားခဲ့တယ္။
ago and before ျခားနားခ်က္
two years ago = two years before now  လြန္ခဲ့ေသာႏွစ္ႏွစ္က

two years before = two years before then (before a past time) ---မတိုင္ခင္ႏွစ္ႏွစ္က
 

ေအာက္ပါ၀ါက်တို႔ကိုႏႈိင္းယွဥ္ၾကည့္ပါ။
Two years ago, I visited my home town, which l had left two years before.
လြန္ခဲ့ေသာႏွစ္ႏွစ္က သူ႔မတိုင္ခင္အရင္ႏွစ္ႏွစ္က ထြက္ခြာခဲ့တဲ့ဇာတိၿမိဳ႕ကိုလည္ပတ္ခ့ဲတယ္။

ကၽြန္ေတာ္ေရးထားသမွ်ကိုဖတ္ခ်င္လွ်င္ဒီမွာေလ့လာႏိုင္ပါသည္။
