သံုးႏႈန္းမွတ္သားေ၀ါဟာရမ်ား-၃

မေတာ္တဆထိခိုက္ဒဏ္ရာရတာကို accident လို႔ဆိုပါတယ္။ ထိခိုက္ဒဏ္ရာရပံုေတြကလည္းအမ်ိဳးမ်ိဳးရွိတဲ့အတြက္ အေခၚအေ၀ၚေတြလည္း အဖံုဖံုရွိလာပါတယ္။

၁။ home, at work, when doing a sport etc အိမ္၊ အလုပ္စသည္မွာအားကစားလုပ္ရင္း မေတာ္တဆျဖစ္ျခင္း
accident [n C] when someone gets hurt or something gets damaged without anyone intending them to be;
Jim was rushed to the hospital after an accident at work. အလုပ္ထဲမွာဒဏ္ရာရလို႔ဂ်ဴလီကို ေဆး႐ံုတန္းပို႔လိုက္ရတယ္။

၂။ In a car, train, plane etc accident [n C] when a car,train etc hits an object, a person, or another vehicle: ကား၊ ရထား၊ ေလယာဥ္ပ်ံ တစ္ခုခုႏွင့္၀င္တိုက္မိျခင္း

The accident was caused by someone driving too fast. မေတာ္တဆမႈဟာ အရွိန္ျမွင့္ေမာင္းႏွင္တဲ့တစ္ေယာက္ေယာက္ေၾကာင့္ျဖစ္ခဲ့တယ္။

Wreck [n C] American. an accident involving a car/plane/ train etc; ကား၊ ရထား၊ ေလယဥ္ပ်ံပ်က္ျခင္း

The wreck caused a 5mile traffic jam. ေမာ္ေတာ္ယာဥ္ပ်က္တာ ငါးမိုင္ေလာက္ယာဥ္ေၾကာပိတ္သြားတယ္။

Collision [n C] an accident in which two or more cats, planes etc hit each other while they are moving: ယာဥ္အခ်င္းခ်င္းတိုက္မိျခင္း

Collision + between

head-on collision (=between two cars etc moving directly towards each other) ေခါင္းခ်င္းဆိုင္တိုက္မိျခင္း

Pile-up [n C] informal a serious road accident in which a lot of cars hit each other; စုၿပံဳျခင္း၊ ယာဥ္တိုက္မႈမွာကားေတြစုၿပံဳေနျခင္းတိုက္မိျခင္း

The pile-up happened in thick fog. ဆိုး၀ါးတဲ့ယာဥ္တိုက္မႈဟာ ျမဴႏွင္းေတြထူတဲ့အခ်ိန္မွာျဖစ္ခဲ့တယ္။

Get run over : if someone gets run over, a car or other vehicle hits them, and they get hurt or killed: ယာဥ္တိုက္ခံရသည္။ အႀကိတ္ခံရသည္။

Our last cat got run over by a car outside our house. ကၽြန္ေတာ္တို႔ရဲ႕ေၾကာင္ကေလး အိမ္အျပင္မွကားႀကိတ္ခံလိုက္ရတယ္။

Don ’t run out into the road —you’ll get run over. လမ္းထဲေလ်ာက္မေျပးနဲ႔။ ကားတိုက္ခံရဦးမယ္။

၃။ an extremely bad accident when people are killed လူအမ်ားထိခိုက္ေသေၾကေသာျဖစ္ရပ္ဆိုး

Disaster [n C] an extremely bad accident in which a lot of people are kiiled: ေဘးဒုကၡ၊ ကပ္ဆိုက္ျခင္း။

Accidentaly : when you do something that you did not intend to do တမင္လုပ္တာမဟုတ္။ မရည္ရြယ္ဘဲလုပ္ျဖစ္သြားတာ။ မေတာ္တဆျဖစ္သြားတာ။

** Accidentally ဟာ subject နဲ႔ verb ၾကားမွာလာပါတယ္။ I accidentally brake it. ဒါေပမယ့္ by accident ဟာ ၀ါက်ရဲ႕ေနာက္ဆံုးမွာလာတယ္။ I brake it by accident.
