လူအမ်ားကေတာ႔ ႏိုင္ငံေရးနဲ႔ စီးပြါးေရးဆိုင္ရာေတြရ႔ဲ အေျပာင္းလဲအေနထားကို ၾသဘာေပးမွာပါပဲ။

Many have applauded the moves by the Myanmar government to transform the country's political and economic landscape.

သို႔ေပမယ္႔၊ ေက်းလက္ေဒသက ဆင္းရဲသားျပည္သူေတြကေတာ႔ ျမန္မာျပည္ရဲ႔ အေျပာင္းလဲကို
ကတုန္ကရင္ျဖစ္ေနၾကပါသတဲ႔။

However, the rural poor in Myanmar are greeting the changes with trepidation.

အခ်ိဳ႔က တိုင္းျပည္၏ တိုးတက္ေျပာင္းလဲမွဳသည္ အေျခခံလိုအပ္ေသာ ဆီႏွင္႔ဆန္တို႔၏ကုန္
ေစ်းႏုံန္းျမင္႔တက္လာသည္ကို ဦးတည္သြားခဲ႔ေလသည္ဟုဆိုေသာ အျမင္အားေဖၚျပလာသည္။

Some express concern that the development of the country could lead to a rise in prices of basic necessities like rice and oil.


အသက္ ၄၇ ႏွစ္ရိွျပီး လေလး ၆ေယာက္ရဲ႔ ဖခင္ ဦးအုန္းျမင္႔မိသားစုအဖို႔ကေတာ႔ ဆင္းရဲျခင္းသံသရာၾကီးက ေရွာင္လြဲထြက္လာဖို႔ကေတာ႔ အေတာ္ၾကီး ခက္ခဲလိပ္အံုးမယ္တဲ႔။

For Ohn Myint, a 47-year-old father of six, the poverty cycle for his family will be hard to break.

အထမ္းသမား အငွားသမားဘ၀နဲ႔ အလုပ္ကို တလကို ၁၅ ရက္ေလာက္ေတာ႔ အလုပ္ကရေပမယ္႔ သူ႔အတြက္ ဖ်န္းမ်ွ၀င္ေငြက တေန႔ ျမန္မာေငြ ၃ ေထာင္ေလာက္ျဖစ္ျပီး အေမရိကန္ေဒၚနဲ႔ဆို ၃သို႔မဟုတ္ ၄ ေဒၚလာေလာက္ပဲရတယ္လို႔ဆိုတယ္။

Working as a potter for about 15 days in a month, his average daily income is about 3,000 kyats (US$3or4).

သူ႔အေနနဲ႔ တိုင္းျပည္အတြင္း စီးပြါးေရးဆိုင္ရာ အခ်ိန္းေျပာင္းကို စတင္လုပ္လာတယ္ဆိုတာကို အမ်ားက ၾကိဳဆိုေနၾကေသာ္လည္း သူတို႔လို လူဆင္းရဲေတြအတြက္ ေဆာင္ရြက္မွဳမူ၀ါဒေတြက္က
ေတာ႔ အေကာင္းဘက္ကိုဦးတည္ဖို႔ ေရးေရးေလးေတာင္ ရိွမလာေသးဘူးလို႔ ဆိုပါတယ္။

Although many have welcomed the political and economic reforms introduced in the country, Ohn Myint said the policies have not yielded any positive results for them.

He said: "Even though the city is developing, life is still a struggle for me. Life remains the same for me."

လူအေတာ္တန္အခ်ဳိ႔က ထမင္းအိုးတလံုးစာေလာက္ တေန႔စာ တေန႔စာ ၀ယ္ျခမ္းႏိုင္လာေပမယ္႔၊
သူ႔အဖို႔ကေတာ႔ အနာဂတ္မွာ သူ႔အဖို႔ ရွာေဖြရတာ ပိုျပီးေတာ႔ေတာင္ ၀င္ေငြေလ်ာ႔ပါးလာရတာကို စိုးေၾကာက္မိေနပါတယ္ဟု ဆိုပါသည္။

With fewer people buying clay pots today, Ohn Myint fears he will earn even less in the future.

သူ႔ရဲ႔မိသားစုက ခေလးေတြဟာ အပို၀င္ေငြေလးရဖို႔ ဘာရီရ အလုပ္ေလးေတြျဖစ္တဲ႔ အိမ္ေတြကို ေရလိုက္ေရာင္းပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမဲ႔ အဲဒီအလုပ္ကလဲ သူ႔အတြက္ လံုေလာက္တဲ႔ အေနထားမရိွပါဘူး။

His children now supplement the family's income by doing odd jobs like delivering water to households, but he is worried that it will not be enough.

လက္ရိွကေတာ စားေနတဲ႔ ထမင္းေလးနဲ႔ ဟင္းသီးဟင္းရြက္ေပၚမွာပဲမွီတည္ေနရျပီး သူတို႔အတြက္ ဟင္းရြက္စိမ္းတပန္းကန္လံုးစာေလး အတြက္ ျမန္မာေငြ ၅၀က်ပ္ ေဒၚလာႏွင္႔ဆ ို၁၀ ျပား ေလာက္
ေပးေနၾကရတယ္။

Living on just rice and vegetables, they are paying about 50 kyats (US$0.10) for a plate of greens now.

ေျခာက္လေလာက္အတြင္းမွာပင္ အလားတူဟင္သီးဟင္းရြက္ကုန္ေစ်းႏံုန္းက ႏွစ္ဆေလာက္
တက္သြားတယ္လို႔ သူက ခန္႔မွန္းမိတယ္။
In six months, Ohn Myint expects to pay double of that, for the same amount of vegetables.

လက္ရိွအစိုးရရဲ႔ ျပဳျပင္ေျပာင္းလဲမွဳဟာ က်ယ္က်ယ္ျပန္႔ျပန္႔ လူမွဳဘ၀နဲ႔ ျပည္သူေတြဆီကို ေကာင္း
တဲ႔ အက်ိဳးျဖစ္ထြန္းမွဳေတြ ေရာက္မလာပါဘူး လို႔ သူကဆိုပါတယ္။ ျပည္သူေတြအတြက္
အက်ိဳးျဖစ္ထြန္းတဲ႔ ရလဒ္ဆိုတာကို အစိုးရက လုပ္ေပးတာကို သူ႔အေနနဲ႔ သိသာျမင္သာတာ
မရိွေသးဘူးလို႔ ဆိုပါတယ္။ အစိုးရက ေျပာေနတာသာေလးရိွတာ၊ လက္ေတြက်င္႔သံုးလုပ္
ေဆာင္တာမရိွပါဘူး ဟုသူကေျပာသည္။ အမ်ားျပည္သူအတြက္ကေတာ႔ လိုအပ္တဲ႔ လုပ္
ေဆာင္ခ်က္ေတြကို မလုပ္ကိုင္ပဲ၊ အက်ိဳးရလဒ္ေတြ ေပၚထြန္းလာလိမ္႔မယ္မဟုတ္ဟု ေျပာသည္။

He said: "The recent reforms by the current government are not having any good impact on the wider population. So I'm not convinced that the government reforms can produce the results to benefit the people. The government is merely talking and not taking any action. So without the necessary action, it will not produce any fruitful consequences for the public."

လ်င္ ျပဳျပင္ေျပာင္းလဲေရးလုပ္ေနသည္ဟု ထုတ္ေဖၚေျပာဆိုေနေသာ္ျငား၊ အက်ိဳးသက္ေရာက္မွဳရ
လဒ္သည္ ဦးအုန္းျမင္႔ကဲ႔သိုပ အလားတူတေသာ ေအာက္ေျခလူတန္းစားတို႔၏ ခံစားသက္ေရာက္
ႏိုင္မွဳအား ေဆာင္းက်ဥ္းေပးႏိုင္ရန္လိုအပ္ေနပါေၾကာင္း။

About two-thirds of the estimated 60-million population in Myanmar still live in rural areas. Although the Myanmar government has embarked on rapid transformation in the political and economic arena in the city, effects have yet to trickle down to benefit the common folk like Ohn Myint.
